Preparing for a Successful Value Management Workshop

SCAV Société Canadienne d'analyse de la valeur CSVA Canadian society of value analysis The Canadian Society of Va l u e Analysis held its third international conference on 12-13 April 1999 in Montreal. The conference theme was " Managing and Producing Value ". The conference was attended by over 55 people and was followed by a three-day module 2 course on Value Management by J.J. Kaufman. 18 people attended this course. The conference was successful in attracting people from many facets of the industry as well as providing the participants with an outstanding content on both value management and other emerging value methodologies. with their presentations entitled " Value Management, a Style " , and " Preparing for a successful Value Management Workshop " respect i v e l y. The afternoon presentations covered diverse aspects of VM/VE from " Using Functional Analysis for Business Modeling " by Professor Dan Seni, " Changing the Conversation from Cost to Value " by Howard Ellegant, CVS, and " The Use of Value Analysis to guide the Strategic Procurement Process " by Martyn Phillips. Tom Fletcher concluded the first day by sharing with the participants how the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario is going about with VE applied to highway construction management.
